Weather forecast for Friday and Saturday

Kathmandu, Feb 28 . The weather is going to be partly cloudy with light rain in the hilly region and generally fair in the rest of the country on Friday, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.

Similarly, the weather will be by and large cloudy with chances of light rain accompanied by thunder in the hilly region and possibility of light snowfall in the mountainous region on Saturday.

Rainfall and snowfall has taken place throughout the country on Wednesday due to the change in weather system following the development of low pressure system caused by the Westerly wind.

There will be gradual improvement in the weather from tonight starting from the western part of the country.

Senior meteorologist Sudan Subedi said that however the weather will be generally cloudy in the central and eastern region as well as in the western hilly region for some days.
Jumla received the highest 30 millimetres rain and Kathmandu 29 millimetres rain in the last 24 hours.

He said Kathmandu’s weather has become chilly as the outer hilly rim of Kathmandu Valley received snowfall this morning. The maximum temperature of Kathmandu in the last 24 hours was 16.5 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was 2 degrees Celsius.
