Birgunj, April 1. Thirty one people have died in a storm that shook Parsa and Bara today evening. One person was killed in the remote Harbadiya of Parsa while three died in different locations of Bara, according to the District Police Office.
Another 120 are reported to be injured in various locations of the two districts and many of them are undergoing treatment at local medical centres including the Narayan Sub-regional hospital. A significant amount of property was also destroyed as houses were damaged as a result of the windstorm.
Local police and army personnel as well as local residents are involved in the rescue work.
