Dhakal urges the Saudi ambassador to bring investment in Nepal

Kathmandu, March 7. FNCCI Senior Vice President Dhakal asks Saudi envoy to facilitate Saudi investment in Nepal Senior Vice President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Chandra Prasad Dhakal has asked the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Nepal Saad Abuhaimed to help bring investment in Nepal’s agriculture, tourism, and hydropower sector.

During the meeting with Ambassador Saad at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Senior Vice President Dhakal asked Ambassador Saad to facilitate bringing in Saudi investment in different projects, preferably in hydropower, tourism, and agriculture, among others. “As a senior vice president of the FNCCI, an umbrella organization of the Nepali private sector, I had held a meeting with Saudi Arabian Ambassador.

During the meeting discussions were held to bring in Saudi investment in various potential sectors including hydropower, agriculture, tourism, vegetable farming, and potable water, among others,” Dhakal said. Similarly, the discussions were held to promote bilateral trade and business relations fostering and strengthening bilateral relations between the private sector organizations of the two countries. In response, the Saudi Ambassador has agreed to convey the message to Saudi business community and the government as well, Dhakal said quoting Ambassador Saad as saying.

Nepal and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia enjoy almost a half-century-old bilateral friendly relations. There is a great prospect of economic cooperation exists between the two countries. Besides, Saudi Arabia is one of the popular destinations for Nepali migrant workers.
