Kathmandu, Aug. 22 . The government has been preparing to bring Nepali migrant workers who are in a state of coma in course of treatment in different hospitals in the destination countries and provide them medical treatment at home.
Talking to RSS, Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Gokarna Bista said that treatment of the Nepali migrants lying unconscious in different countries would be done at home as the government was sensitive to the problems and mental stress facing the families of the migrants.
“This is a sensitive issue. The incumbent government is working to bring such Nepali workers home. Repeated discussions are on with the Ministry of Health to this issue,” Bista shared.
Minister Bista also promised to study the causes of deaths of Nepalis in labour destination countries after forming a team of medical experts. “We have to indentify the sleep death of Nepalis, we are effortful to aware the labourers not to let repeat such incidents in future,” Minister Bista said. Altogether 23 Nepalis are in a state of coma in different hospitals in the labour destinations.
Meanwhile, Bista has directed the chiefs of line agencies of the ministry to submit a report about the problems and their solution measures within a week regarding the problems facing the workers in their workstations.
During the annual review meeting of the ministerial-level development problem resolution committee on Wednesday, Minister Bista urged the officials to quit the traditional mindset so as to ensure positive changes. On the occasion, Minister Bista asked the officials to be constructive, unique and result-oriented in their performance.
