Kathmandu, Nov. 22 . The Embassy of Nepal in South Korea is conducting ‘stress management and voluntary repatriation’ programme targeting the Nepali migrant workers.
Labour Councilor Dilliram Bastola at the Embassy said that the programme is going to be held to reduce mental stress and the cases of suicide among Nepali workers based on the consultations with the experts.
According to Bastola, the programme would be organized on December 1 and 2 in two difference South Korean cities having high concentration of Nepalis.
The Embassy is making preparations for the programme on the backdrop of serious situation of depression among Nepali workers most probably due to tough job, home sick and among others. “The programme will encourage Nepali migrants to contribute to own country’s prosperity by entrepreneurship development after repatriation,” Bastola shared.
On December 1, the orientation programme is scheduled to be held at Cheonan Support Center for Foreign Workers in Cheonan city and at Hyundai Industrial Park on December 2. The Embassy has appealed to Nepali workers to attend the programme in their convenient location.
Senior consultant Dr Kedar Rayamajhi is scheduled to give his presentation, counselling and deliberations to the migrant workers.
So far, around 58,000 Nepalis have landed in South Korea through employment permit system (EPS) while there are some 40,000 Nepalis in South Korea at present, according to the Embassy.
