Preparations for the Women’s Leadership Summit complete

Kathmandu. Preparations for the Women’s Leadership Summit to be organized by the Confederation of Nepal Industry on the 11th and 12th of Chaitra have been completed. Preparations for the two-day international conference to be held in Kathmandu in conjunction with the Federation of Women’s Leadership Forum were informed at a press conference held on Monday.

After the Covid-19 epidemic, the conference is going to be organized focusing on three major areas of women’s leadership. Nirwan Chaudhary, vice president of the confederation, said that the purpose of the conference is to discuss the impact of covid-19 on women and find a solution. He said that at the conference, there will be an opportunity to exchange ideas among women leaders, to make common strategies, to tell about the success of women, to encourage women, and to learn from each other, including issues of gender equality.

Women in leadership, women’s contribution to the economy, and women as agents of change will be discussed in separate sessions, said Chayan Sharma, president of the Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs Forum. He informed that the participation of established, transformative and influential personalities in the political, economic, social, environmental, and other fields of Nepal, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Germany, and other countries have been ensured in various sessions.

At the conference, two women who have made high contributions in the field of social and information technology will be honored. Besides, to promote entrepreneurship, there will be an exhibition of indigenous products produced by women entrepreneurs. The conclusions and recommendations of the two-day women’s leadership summit will be handed over to the Nepalese government.
