Surkhet-Jumla air service begins

Surkhet, Sept. 12 . Direct air service from Surkhet, the provincial capital city of Karnali Province to Jumla has commenced from Wednesday.

Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of Karnali Province Nanda Singh Budha marked the beginning of the flight service by travelling in the plane of Summit Air with call sign 9NAKZ.

Along with Minister Budha, 18 passengers travelled to Jumla from Surkhet.
Minister Budha said that the direct flight from Surkhet to Jumla was started to establish easy and accessible network to the two popular destinations. “This service would not only increase the services and access of people but also help largely in tourism promotion,” he said.

Manager of Summit Air in Surkhet Chandra Jung Shahi said that the one-way fare from Surkhet to Jumla has been fixed at Rs 3,965. According to Shahi, two flights in a week one each on Tuesday and Friday are scheduled from Surkhet to Jumla. An agreement has been inked with the Go Karnali Tours and Travels for the direct flight to Jumla from Surkhet.
