Ranjha, Banke, Dec. 23 . Finance Minister Dr Yubraj Khatiwada on Saturday assured economic development of Nepalgunj adding that the federal government was positive in this regard.
“I have worked for the development of Nepalgunj personally and professionally ever since 2035 B.S. when I arrived here for the first time. The city has made a big development stride ever since,” he said while addressing the 27th general assembly of Nepalgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Identifying Nepalgunj as being the gateway to the development of not only Province 5 but also the Karnali Province and Sudur Pachim Province, he said, “There is not any alternative to developing the city to extract and export medicinal herbs, agricultural and mineral products.”
Likewise, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bhawani Rana said the city is being transferred lately as an economic hub, stressing the need for the state to encourage its development. She also pledged to its development.
On the occasion, President of Nepalgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nanda Lal Baishya submitted a memorandum to Minister Khatiwada drawing his attention to the development of Banke district.
