Basnet arrested for cheating Rs 8.8 million

Kathmandu, Aug 1 . Metropolitan Crime Division has arrested a person for cheating Rs 8.8 million from Kathmandu today.
Suman Basnet, 24, of Shivasatakshi municipality-9 in Jhapa district had cheated Rs 8.8 million by collecting between Rs 600,000 from Rs 350,000 from various individuals by alluring them of sending to Cambodia to work as security guard. He had promised them a salary of Rs 100,000 per month.
Police Inspector at the Division, Narendra Prasad Upreti said that Basnet was arrested from Machhapokhari, Kathmandu. Basnet was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by 19 persons including Kul Bahadur Tamang of Panchthar.
