Czech Republic hands over ambulance and medical equipment in Nala

Kathmandu, Feb 14. Czech Republic Development Cooperation has handed over an ambulance, medical equipment and an operation vehicle to Dhagpo Sheydrub Ling Foundation, in Nala, Kavre. His Excellency Mr. Milan Hovorka, Ambassador of Czech Republic to Nepal, officially handed over the keys of the Vehicles to the representatives of foundation on 14th February Friday at Nala Gumba, Bhaktapur.

The ambulance is fitted with advanced machineries and equipment that can be used in case of emergency. The medical equipment includes spine board with fixators, vacuum mattress, Oximeter, IV lines, Transport Stretchers, Oxygen cylinders, surgical sets, examination bed, chairs, privacy booths and others.

H.E. Milan Hovorka said, “We are happy to fulfil the need of ambulance in this region. We hope that this ambulance will help local people to reach hospital on time. This will also help further to strengthen the friendship between Nepal and Czech Republic and people.”

Representative of Dhagpo Sheydrub Ling Foundation, Lekshay Ghale, expressed gratitude to the People of Czech Republic, Czech Republic Development Cooperation and MEDEVAC for the assistance and partnership. “Ambulance and medical equipment will be used to transfer sick student of Gumba and also local people.” he said.

The Nala Gumba is located about 20 kilometres away from the main referral hospitals in Kathmandu and Dhulikhel. It would take more than 2 hours to reach hospitals in local transportation in case of medical emergency.

Government of Czech Republic expects that this new ambulance would facilitate and expedite transportation of sick people to advanced hospitals thus saving time and reducing the risk on lives of local people.

Czech Republic’s assistance to this project indicates its commitment to the improvement of the living standards and welfare of Nepalese people. This project has been designed to address basic human needs that includes education, health and sanitation and drinking water.
