Butwal, March 22. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said development campaign had begun in the country and it would be accelerated in the days ahead. PM Oli said this while launching the expansion and upgrading of Narayangadh-Butwal roadway.
The Narayangadh-Butwal road along the East-West Highway is getting expanded to four lanes.
At the programme organized here today, PM Oli reminded that it was no more the time for anarchy and insecurity. Indicating the Biplab-led party, he said the thoughts of violations, murder and bombing needs to given up. Those involving in such activities would be taken action as per the law, he made aware.
The international airport was constructed here in view of the broader welfare of Lumbini, he said, expressing hope that international flight companies would show interest in it.
He further said government was serious to ensure development in Lumbini. The PM also directed the concerned bodies for the expansion of the Bhairahawa-Lumbini-Tilaurakot roadway. “Begin works to expand roads to link Lumbini with highway,” he urged.
Construction time till 2080 BS .
According to him, the roadway would not only be upgraded and but also made standard. The years till 2080 BS would be the years of constructions and development, as he said.
On the occasion, State-5 Chief Minister Shankar Pokhrel viewed that economic growth rate was encouraging with the formation of the present government which has helped pave way for development and prosperity.
He requested everyone not to disappoint people at a time when the country has made headway to development and prosperity.
The Lumbini region, as he stated, was yet to be developed despite that the fact that it was one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the country. He also opined that the construction works of East-West railway should be begun from west to intensify the developmental projects in the west.
Similarly, NCP General Secretary and former Minister Bishnu Poudel said that there would be no demarcation line between the ruling and opposition in the developmental agenda.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has pledged 85 percent cost and Nepal government 15 percent cost for the upgrading of the Butwal-Narayangadh road. The estimated cost for this is 17 billion rupees. The contract for the expansion and upgrading has been made with China State Construction Company.
