Investment in health and education will be increased: PM Oli


Kathmandu, March 28 .  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that guarantee of health, security and education has been stressed to achieve the government’s goal of ‘ Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’. “Prosperity is not enough to be happy and content. All should be healthy. One should get health service at the needy time to be healthy,” he added.

Addressing the special programme organised on the occasion of enlistment of Mediciti Hospital at National Accreditation Board for Hospital and Health Care Providers (NABH) for the first time in Nepal, he said that the journey of economic prosperity has moved ahead in an expedited manner after political stability.

The Prime Minister expressed the belief that Nepal could be developed at the best hub of health and education sector in international arena as climate and environment of Nepal is best in the world.

Raising the question why government-run hospitals like Bir Hospital, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital and the BPKIHS in Dharan have not got international recognition, he urged the bodies concerned to utilize the public property to the maximum in people’s service.

Similarly, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population, Upendra Yadav, said that the government has adopted a policy to increase investment in education and health sector as health is the basis of prosperity. He further said that preparation was underway to establish medical college in all seven provinces, to bring a new health policy and providing medical appliances to government health institutions.

On the occasion, Executive Director of National Accreditation Board for Hospital and Health Care Providers, Dr Harish Nadakarni, handed over the NABH certificate to Hospital Chairperson Upendra Mahato.
