Rolpa, Oct 7 . A mobile application “Blood for Rolpa” has been introduced with the objective of meeting the need for blood transfusion in the district.
Eight youths of Rolpa worked together to develop the application, considering the lack of a blood bank in Rolpa.
The mobile application provides information about volunteer blood donors who can be contacted in times of crisis. So far the details of 50 blood donors have been included in the mobile application, according to campaigner Binod Dangi.
The mobile application however can be used only in an android phone. But it has already come into service, with six donors already donating blood to the needy.
The compulsion of people of Rolpa having to die due to lack of blood transfusion would hopefully end now, said Mayor of Rolpa municipality Purna KC. It comes as a huge relief as the establishment of a blood bank still seems a distant dream for the district.
Managing blood especially for delivery cases had always been a problem but now it has become a bit easier, said Medical Superintendent of District Health Office, Rolpa Prakash Budha. Otherwise, it would be the office staff or security person who would have to come to the rescue of the needy patients.
