Supreme Court clears way for holding PSC examinations

Kathmandu, July 1 .Supreme Court (SC) today has opened the door for the Public Service Commission to take written examinations for various positions (open and inclusive categories) for the local level governments.
A joint bench of Justices Dr Ananda Mohan Bhattarai and Hari Krishna Karki denied issuing an order to stop the PSC from taking examinations for the vacancy it has announced for more than 9,000 positions in 515 local levels across the country.
The decision came in the response to a writ petition filed by advocate Bikash Kumar Thakur on June 10, arguing that the vacancy announcement was against the spirit of the Constitution.
