Petroleum technical team along with Minister in Dailekh

The team comprises Nepali and Chinese experts and technicians along with former Industry Minister Som Prasad Pandey, Deputy Director General of Department of Mines and Geology, Sudhir Rajaure, and Secretary of Industry Ministry, Yam Kumari Khatiwada.

The team of China Geological Survey along with technicians of Department of Mines and Geology on Sunday carried out onsite visit of the areas including Shreesthan.

On the occasion, Minister Yadav said that petroleum products would be explored protecting religious devotion of Panchakoshi area.

He said, “Works for the extracting petroleum products will not been carried out in the beginning. Works related to exploration of petroleum products will be started. It is not sure that where or not there is quarry of petroleum products. But we should be hopeful.”

Recalling that basis for exploration of petroleum products was prepared during his term as Industry Minister, former Industry Minister Pandey thanked the incumbent government for its effort to materialize it.

Department of Mines and Geology and China Geological Survey had on February 28 signed agreement for ‘Nepal-China Petroleum Gas and Oil Resource Survey’ for petroleum products exploration.
