All workers trapped in tunnel rescued safely
Rasuwa, June 21. All 17 workers trapped in the under-construction tunnel of Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project here have been rescued safely, said chief of police in district, Bhagendra Dhakal. Seventeen workers- 11 Nepalis and six Chinese- trapped in the tunnel closed with dry landslide last night were brought out safely within 7: 00 am this morning.
Their health condition has also been examined by the local medical persons. Chief District Officer Arjun Bhandari informed that the construction works of the project were halted for today because the stone fall was still sporadic at the tunnel entry.
A joint team of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force was mobilized for the rescue operation early this morning.
