Two arrested for human trafficking

Kathmandu, June 15 .The Nepal Police Anti-human trafficking Research Bureau has arrested two persons on the charge of trafficking 15 Nepalis in the name of foreign employment.
Rahul Thapa,36, of Khotang and Lokman Rai,44, of Sankhuwasabha were arrested on Friday.
They have been accused of charging Rs. 500,000 to 800,000 from job aspirations and taking them to Libya via New Delhi, Pakistan and Dubai to eventually be trafficked.
The 15 survivors, who had been held hostage, were returned home at the joint initiative of the Bureau, the Nepali Army peacekeeping mission in Libya and the International Organization of Migration.
Further investigation is underway while a case will be filed against the duo as per the relevant act, said the bureau chief and SSP Iswar Babu Karki.
