Crusher industry operating unlawfully sealed
Chitwan, June 3 . The local administration in Chitwan has sealed a crusher industry which was operating without a license, and has taken two people under control on charge of their involvement in unlawful business.
A team headed by the District Coordination Committee during its regular monitoring reached the site on Sunday and shut the Nyamco Crusher Industry based in Jugedi of the district after finding its illegal operation.
Employees Sagar Shrestha and Kaji Bhandari have been taken under control in connection with the incident. The area occupied by the quarry was permitted to store river products during the widening of Naryangadh-Mulgin road, committee chief Krishna Kumar Dallakoti.
Meanwhile, a person has been arrested for violating the code of conduct while extracting river products at Thimura area. The arrestee is Gopal Bhandari. Two excavators were also seized. The extracted construction products were seven fold more than the amounts permitted by the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA).
Bhandari has been accused of causing deforestation by quarrying river products. Similarly, the monitoring team directed a crusher industry based in Pandhrakilo of Bharatpur metropolis-29 which is on the process of coming into operation not to go for further operating process.
The industry proprietor Bir Bahadur Kumal has been asked to visit the District Coordination Committee for clarification. Prior to this, the local administration during the monitoring at Khagedi, Thang, Syangdi and Bung rivers detained five people for illegal mining. The arrestees were also fined Rs 150,000 each before releasing them on Sunday.
