Finance Minister unveils budget of 1.532 trillion for FY 2019/20

Kathmandu, May 29 .The government has tabled a budget of Rs. 1.532 trillion for the fiscal year 2019/20.
Finance Minister Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada tabled the budget estimates for the new fiscal year at the joint session of the federal parliament including Rs. 957.10 billion worth of current expenditure and Rs. 167.85 billion worth of capital expenditure. Likewise, Rs. 167.85 billion has been appropriated for financing.
The estimated sources of income for the fiscal year includes Rs. 981.13 billion from revenue sources, Rs. 57.88 billion foreign assistance with deficit worth Rs. 493.83 billion to be met through foreign credit and other sources.
It may be noted that the government had tabled a budget of Rs. 1.315 trillion in the current fiscal year 2018/19.
The budget is tabled every year on Jestha 15 of the Lunar Calendar as provided in the Constitution of Nepal.
