‘NTC should start new age in telecommunication sector’
Janakpurdham, April 12 .Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota today said Nepal Telecom should begin a new era in the telecommunication sector.
“It is misfortune that the organisation of over 4,100 employees is lagging behind (ranked second) in terms of profit generation. Now it should become pro-customers and people,” he said inaugurating the NTC’s fiber to the home service.
Stressing the need for the NTC to win the people by increasing its efficiency and quality services, he said it should work enough to compete with other private service providers. He also urged the NTC to make country’s goal of ‘digital Nepal’ a success by successfully implementing its nine projects including the expansion of its 4G service across the country. ‘NTC should reach every nook and cranny of the country with its service.”
Likewise, NTC regional director Amarendra Narayan Singh and managing director Dilliram Adhikari said the fiber to the home service aims to cover the whole country in the coming days. The service aims to cover 11,000 customers of Janakpurdham area under which they can get high-speed internet service through optical fiber.
