Banned CPN’s leader arrested from Chitwan
Chitwan, March 27. Police this morning arrested a leader of the banned Community Party of Nepal (CPN) led by Netra Bikram Chand from Chitwan district.
The identity of the arrestee is yet to be disclosed due to security reason, and investigations are ongoing, said Deputy Superintendent of Police of the Chitwan District Police, Durga Raj Regmi.
So far, the district police arrested seven leaders of the banned group including the one arrested today from various places of the district, he said.
The arrestees include Raj Kumar Timilsina, the party district secretariat member, Bikram Neupane, unit chairperson of the party-affiliated All Nepal National Independents Students Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R), Gunaraj Shrestha, chief of the ‘people’s government’ at Rapti municipality in Dang district, district party member Bir Bahadur Tamang, Mitra KC, President of party-affiliated Chitwan Transport Entrepreneur Association and Jaya Bahadur Kunwar, area in-charge of Chitwan-1.
The district court extended the remand of the six arrestees. A case has been filed in the court against those behind an explosion at the office of Bharatpur metropolitan city-5, and a search has been launched for 15 party cadres involved in the incident, said Regmi.
