Upper Tamakoshi reports around 90% physical progres
Kathmandu, March 17. The Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Project has witnessed a quality progress lately. The 456-mw scheme, remaining as the project of national pride, is based in Dolakha district and has lately recorded around 98 percent physical progress.
Information about this was shared at a press meet organised by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation through a press meet Sunday.
Earlier, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Barshaman Pun summoned Nepal Electricity ( NEA) officials, project chief and contractors and directed them to chart out a plan of action to clear hassles in the pace of progress caused by contractors.
As per the direction, Andritz Hydro of Austria and Indian company Texamo worked collectively for the construction works of two vertical tunnels. Remaining works are going on with a target of completing them by the coming mid-November.
The minister expressed his hope the project would complete on time. It is totally based on the domestic investment. Works of steel lining in the vertical penstock shaft were delayed and the issue was addressed through the Andritz, the minister said.RSS
