4 injured as police, locals clash in Sindhuli
Sindhuli, Feb. 10 . Four persons including three police officials were injured after the police personnel and local residents clashed at Area Police Office, Kapilakot, of Marin Rural Municipality in Sindhuli district.
In the clash that took place at 7:00 this evening, Sub-Inspector of Nepal Police Jit Bahadur Aryal, Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajan Khadka, Policeman Binod Kumar Shah, and local Sarki Man Moktan were injured.
It is said that Moktan, 40, was injured in the police firing. Moktan is rushed to Dhulikhel Hospital for further treatment as his treatment was not possible in the local health post, Superintendent of Police (SP) Chakra Bahadur Singh shared.
Likewise, the injured police personnel are receiving treatment in a local health centre. SP Singh said that police opened 45 rounds of fires to end the clash adding that a team of police personnel is deployed to the site to contain the situation.
According to police, the dispute between the police and locals erupted after the police held two persons under control for allegedly attacking five persons with sharp weapons in a wedding party on February 7 in Marin-6. The Area Police Office Kapilakot has said that the situation has returned to normalcy.
