‘Only cooperation of government to Asia Pacific Summit’
Kathmandu, Nov 26. Senior leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) and Coordinator of the Asia Pacific Summit Organising Committee, Madhav Kumar Nepal, has said that there would be only support and cooperation of the Government of Nepal to the summit.
At a news conference organised here on Monday to give information about the summit, senior leader Nepal clarified that the government would play the role only in inviting VVIPs and arrangement of their security and transport. The Summit is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu from November 30 to December 3.
Universal Peace Federation (UPF) is organizing the summit under the theme ‘Addressing the Critical Challenges of Our Time: Interdependence, Mutual Prosperity and Universal Values.”
A total of 1,500 international delegates representing 45 nations including seven current Heads and vice-Heads of the State and Government, five current First Ladies, 10 former Heads of State and Government, one current Deputy Prime Minister and seven government ministers, five current Speakers of Parliament and National Assemblies would participate in the Summit.
Clarifying that the Summit is not going to be organised for the publicity of Christianity, Mr Nepal, also former Prime Minister, said that there would be participation of the people from all religions and religious leaders in the Summit.
Discussion would be held on different themes in five sessions focusing on the government’s vision, ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis’, said Coordinator of the organizing Committee, Eknath Dhakal.
