Villagers access electricity after 26 years

Darchula, Nov 13 . Amar Singh Sahu, 75, of Mahakali municipality-2, Mulla has cherished his dream to illuminate the village with electricity after 26 years of his continuous efforts.
It may be noted that 200 Kilowatt electricity was generated from local rivulet at Dunguri in Mahakali municipality in 1992 (2049 BS).
Though the district headquarters and entire municipality was illuminated from the electricity, locals of Mulla village (10-km away from the municipality) are living in dark.
Sahu had reached out the electric poles to village for power supply in 1992. However, it took long time to light up the village with electrification.
Mahakali municipality Mayor Hamsa Raj Bhatta recently inaugurated the illumination of electric lamps in the village. People from the municipality-2 also have access to telephone service from this year.
The mobile phone service was already expanded in most of the district area in 2007. Mayor Bhatta pledged that the settlement would be linked to road network soon.
