Three involved in murder of Gauchan arrested
Kathmandu, Oct 29 . The Metropolitan Crime Division on Monday arrested three persons involved in murder of then Chairperson of the Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal, Sharad Kumar Gauchan.
The arrested are Som Tamang aka Lopsang of Jhapa, Roshan Budhathoki of Kathmandu and Amber Bahadur Rana of Udaypur.
They were arrested from bordering area of Jhapa district. Gauchan was shot dead at Shantinagar in Kathmandu on October 9, 2017.
Organising a press conference, Division Chief and Senior Superintendent of Police, Dhiraj Pratap Singh said that the accused were arrested on the charge of murdering Rupandehi Chairperson of Youth Association Nepal, Durga Tiwari, and Gauchan. On the occasion, SSP Singh, said that Rana was the shooter in the Gauchan murder case while Lopsang was shooter in the Tiwari case.
Singh said Rana had also opened fire at Dawa Lama in Kathmandu in Chaitra, 2073 BS. All the three arrested would be presented before Kathmandu District Court tomorrow.
