Two killed jumping off from third floor of house, some gold ornaments from the supposed gambling den
Sankhu, Kathmandu, Oct 6 . Two people have died after falling from the third floor of a house at Kageshwari Manahara – 6 last night.
The Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range had raided a gambling den being operated at the house belonging Tendi Sherpa at 10 pm on Friday. The chain gate of the house was locked and people were reportedly gambling on the third floor when the police raided the house.
Those killed in the incident are 41-year-old Saroj Ghale and Suman Lama of Sindhupalchok. They died in course of treatment at B &B Hospital. Ghale and Lama had fell in course of running away to escape the police raid.
Police has arrested 23 people including a woman, Rs 458 thousand and some gold ornaments from the supposed gambling den, chief of the Metropolitan Police Range Senior Superintendent of Police Basanta Lama said.
Police also confiscated some khukuri knives, devices used in gambling and motorcycles from the house.
