All businesspersons should pay tax: Finance Minister
Kathmandu, Sept 22. Minister for Finance Dr Yubraj Khatiwada has insisted that all businesspersons irrespective of their business size and scale should come under tax ambit.
Inaugurating the 39th annual general meeting (AGM) of Nepal Retailers Association here in the capital on Saturday, Minister Khatiwada added that all businesses should be run honestly by complying with the government laws.
He also urged all citizens to pay income taxes as it will be utilized for welfare through social security fund. He also argued to widen the base of taxation adding that no double taxation will be introduced.
Also speaking on the occasion, chief information commissioner at the National Information Commission Krishna Hari Banskota opined for establishing concrete standards to run business.
Nepal chamber of commerce senior vice chair Rajendra Malla rued over the trade deficit in the country. The AGM has elected 11-member new working committee under the chair of Raj Kumar Shrestha. About 6,000 retailers are members in the association. RSS
