Investment Board discusses with Chinese team on West Seti
Kathmandu, Aug 29. The Investment Board and the CW Investment under the Chinese Three Gorges held talks on forging agreement on beginning the West Seti hydropower project.
The talk was held in view of the prolonged delay in initiation of the project despite having agreement on the construction. The Chinese side had arrived here on Monday for the talk.
Chief Executive Officer at Investment Board, Maha Prasad Adhikari, said although the discussion was held between the Nepali and Chinese officials they could not forge agreement.
Six years back the government led by Dr Baburam Bhattarai had agreed to task the Chinese company Three Gorges to construct the West Seti project.
The discussion would be continued on Wednesday as well.
It is learnt that the Chinese company has been raising question on the power purchase price and the capacity.
