NATTA lauds new budget
Kathmandu, June 1 . Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has welcomed the budget of the fiscal year 2075/076 BS unveiled by the government.
Issuing a press release Friday, the NATTA has praised the government target to achieve 8 percent of economic growth in the coming fiscal year, promoting internal and external tourism in partnership with province and local levels, identifying 100 new tourist destinations and developing and promoting them, and conducting tourism programmes by targeting India and China.
NATTA’s Chairman CN Pandey stated that developing necessary infrastructure for development of MICE tourism in Nepal, establishment of tourism university, mobilization of Nepal’s diplomatic missions abroad for tourism promotion, announcing Visit Nepal 2020 to bring in 2 million tourists by 2020 and other provisions are the gestures for bright future of tourism sector in the country.
Allocation of Rs 5.20 billion for tourism and 19.35 billion for aviation sector was a welcome step, Pandey added.
