Budget presentation begins in parliament

Kathmandu, May 29 . Finance Minister Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada is presenting the budget (the estimated income and expenditure for the coming fiscal year 2018-19) before the joint sitting of the Federal Parliament now.
The presentation began a while ago. As per the constitutional calendar, the government presents the budget for a new fiscal year on 15th of Nepali month Jeth every year.
Prior to this, the Council of Ministers endorsed the budget presented on the basis of the government policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year which were presented by President Bidya Devi Bhandari on May 21.
