Economic survey presented, projection of 5.5 economic growth

Kathmandu, May 27. Finance Minister Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada presented the economic survey of the current fiscal year and annual status review of public enterprises in the meeting. The upper house shall meet again on May 29.
The survey projected a 5.5 economic growth rate in the current fiscal year. It indicates the contribution of agriculture and agro sector to the Gross Domestic Product by 27.6 and 72.4 percent respectively.
Nepali’s per capita income is estimated to stand at US dollar 1,000 in the current fiscal. As per the latest estimates, over 6 million people in Nepal are under absolute poverty and 8 million under multidimensional poverty line.
