Nepal wishes easy access to export and trade balance
Kathmandu, May 11 . Visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a courtesy call on Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun this evening.
At a meeting held at the Office of Vice-President, Bahadur Bhawan, the two discussed matters related to Nepal-India relations, mutual benefits and bilateral interests.
On the occasion, Vice-President Pun expressed his confidence that Indian PM Modi’s third visit to Nepal would further strengthen and deepen the cordial relations between Nepal and India.
The Vice-President said that Indian cooperation was required to steer Nepal towards prosperity by reducing trade deficit. Noting that Nepal wished easy access to export of goods and trade balance, he said Nepal is also eager to resolve the problems intermittently surfaced in transportation and supply in a sustainable way.
Invitation to Indian Vice-President
Vice-President Pun had extended cordial invitation to Indian Vice-President for Nepal visit in an opportune time while extending congratulations and best wishes to his counterpart through visiting Indian PM Modi.
During the meet, Indian PM Modi said that India is ever ready to support Nepal’s bid for development and prosperity and stressed the need to widen the bilateral relations between the two neighbours.
He also noted that anything can be done with collaboration between Nepal and India.
While terming the Janakpur visit ‘largely successful’ and ‘historical’, Modi said that he was further excited after seeing the gesture of excitement of Nepali people.
On the occasion, Indian PM said the Indian Vice-President would visit Nepal in a convenient time.
Also present on the occasion were Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali, Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi and Secretary at the Office of Vice-President Shanker Prasad Adhikari, among others. On the occasion, PM Modi was accompanied by his National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, External Affairs Secretary Bijaya Gokhle, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri and Secretary at Indian Prime Minister’s Office Ak Sharma, among others.
