Reconstruction of Gorkha Durbar underway

Gorkha, Feb 14. Reconstruction of the historic Gorkha Durbar (palace) is underway. The palace built in 1686 BS during the reign of King Ram Shah was damaged in the devastating earthquake of April 2015.
The palace will be rebuilt in line with its original structure and style, said Hari Prasad Bhusal, chief of the office which looks after the palace. “Building a foundation for the palace is underway,” he said.
Likewise, those used building materials will be kept for reuse, and the rubbles will be disposed off, he said. Pachali Siva JV has been contracted for the approximately Rs 43.7 million project to be completed in the next three years.
