Poudel elected UML parliamentary party leader in Province-3

Kathmandu, Feb 9. Dormani Poudel has been elected the leader of the CPN (UML) parliamentary party of Province-3.
Poudel secured 34 votes to get elected to the post in an election held at Tulsilal Memorial Foundation at Chyasal, Lalitpur today. His contender, Ashtalaxmi Shakya got 24 votes. With this victory, Poudel becoming the Chief Minister of Province-3 has been almost certain as per the agreement of the leftist alliance. UML has 58 members in the Province Assembly in this province.
Former mayor of Hetauda Municipality, Poudel was elected to the Province Assembly from Makawanpur.
