DPM Bijay Kumar Gachhadar urges US investors to invest in road sector

Kathmandu March 11- Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachhadar on Thursday urged investors from the United States to invest in Nepal’s infrastructure sector, especially road.

“So far, most of the investments in the infrastructure sector in Nepal have come from neighbouring countries. So I would like to invite investors from the US to invest here,” he said, inaugurating a session during the Inspire Nepal 2016 Business Forum and Expo. He said Nepal would upgrade all its highways within the next five years.

Claiming the promulgation of the Constitution has created better investment climate, the deputy prime minister asked investors from within the country and abroad to make investment without any fear. Speaking at a plenary session titled “Government Agenda for 2016 and Beyond”, Commerce Secretary Naindra Upadhyaya said his ministry in collaboration with the private sector has been working to increase exports of Nepali products.
