Meeting of PDA kicks off in Capital

Kathmandu March 1- The first meeting of the joint committee of Pancheshwar Development Authority (PDA) kicked off in Kathmandu on Tuesday, with discussions revolving around the size of the management team of the PDA, salary and benefits of officials of the management team, their hiring process, locations of liaison offices and other administrative matters.
The meeting co-chaired by Madhav Prasad Gadtaula, joint secretary at the Ministry of Energy (MoE), and Amita Prasad, joint secretary at the Indian Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation (MoWRRDGR), has proposed to limit the size of the management team at 55, according to sources.
“This number does not include CEO, additional CEO and six directors,” the source said, adding, “Discussions on hiring process of management staff and their salaries and benefits were also held. But nothing was finalised yesterday.” The meeting also floated the idea of opening liaison offices in Kathmandu and New Delhi.The meeting will continue today as well.
