NEA signs PPA with Lower Modi II

Kathmandu February 29- Nepal Electricity Authority has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Lower Modi-II Hydropower Project. The United Hydropower is the developer of the project.
The 10.5-Megawatt Project is a cascade project of the Lower Modi I. Managing Director of United Hydropower Sudhir Prasad Timilsina and NEA Deputy Executive Director Rajib Sharma signed on the agreement on February 26, Independent Power Producers; Association, Nepal said in a press statement Sunday.
The power purchase rate during winter is Rs 8.40 per unit and during summer Rs 4.80. The power generated from the project will be linked to the local grid.
