Nepali picked director at WHO, GENEVA

Kathmandu February 25- Dr Shambu Acharya has been appointed the director at the Headquarters of World Health Organisation, Geneva. WHO Director-General Dr Margaret Chan appointed Dr Acharya, a Nepali national, as the director of Country Cooperation and Collaboration with the UN System on Tuesday.
Dr Acharya holds a PhD in Health Policy and Management from the US-based University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health. He has been actively working in health sector since 1985 and was associated with WHO since 1992.
