Public accounts committee inquire about Nalsing Gadh Hydro Project

Kathmandu February 23- The Legislature-Parliament Public Accounts Committee has shown interest amid the report of irregularities in selection of consultant to prepare detailed project report of Nalsing gadh Hydropower project.
A complaint has been filed against selecting proposal of consultant bidding higher amount. SMEC and F Consult have been selected to carry out detailed project report (DPR). In the final stage, SMEC has proposed Rs. 1 billion 199.1 million while F Consult has proposed Rs. 866.5 million.
Project development committee is preparing to give contract to SMEC against low bidder F Consult. Audit committee has decided to obtain more documents from Development committee and discuss the matter, as per Janardan Sharma, chairman of the Audit committee.
