Nepal Telecom downsizing employees
Kathmandu February 12- The Nepal Telecom would cut down on the number of its employees with the voluntary retirement scheme (VRS).
A meeting of the company’s Board of Directors on Thursday under the chairmanship of Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Communications Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya took a decision to this effect.
As many as 796 staff would retire during the first phase of the process to downsize the NTC staff as per the scheme introduced by the company earlier.
The NT Joint Spokesperson Dilliram Adhikari said the employees selected for the VRS would be given attractive cash and handed down honourable retirement.
The decision to cut down on the staff size is aimed at company’s reformation and management of the human resources.
