Transport fares reduces by Rs. 1, minimum fare to remain Rs. 13

Kathmandu February 7- The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has proposed to reduce the fare of public transport by Rs 1.
DoTM made the proposal to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport to reduce the transport fares. The new rate reduces the fares by 2.53 percent in public transport, 1.65 percent in taxis and 3.76 and 3.28 respectively on Hill and Tarai on cargo transport.
The new rate will come into effect after endorsement by the ministry.
The existing minimum fare on city routes was Rs 13.49 which will go down to Rs. 13.07 after the reduction. Despite the reduction, passengers still have to fork out Rs 13 as minimum fare.
