SEBON objects information centre in NEPSE webpage

Kathmandu January 20- Securities board of Nepal has objected on information centre on NEPSE webpage that provides accessibility to listed companies in NEPSE to post information regarding their respective companies directly. In this regard, SEBON has given verbal instruction to NEPSE to exterminate such system.

Dr. Rewat Bahadur Karki, Chairman of SEBON stated that listed companies may post falsified information as per their requirement thus only those information verified by NEPSE should be given access.

After NEPSE gave access to listed companies to post their information, some of the companies posted false information in order to hike the share price and made corrections afterwards. These troublesome actions lead to losses of many investors in the market due to which SEBON was in pressure to take corrective action.

Dr. Karki informed that insturctions are given to correct the system and to verify the information by NEPSE before posting it publicly.

Many misguided investors and analyst of the share market has criticized the move of NEPSE as "NEPSE page is not a face book wall".
