PM Oli to visit India in Feb 2nd week, says Ambassador
Kathmandu January 8– Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli would visit India in the second week of February, according to Nepal’s Ambassador to India Deep Kumar Upadhyaya.
“Preparations are underway to hold the Prime Minister’s formal visit to India in the second week of February,” the Ambassador told journalists in Kathmandu today, “We are working on some new plans and ongoing issues for the visit.”
He said the Nepal-India relationship would enter a new phase of ‘correction’ now as India began to change its view about its relationship with Nepal.
“They have been speaking that they want to take the bilateral relationship to the height at which it was during Indian Prime Minister’s Narendra Modi’s visit to Nepal,” he said.
Refraining from blaming India for the ongoing border blockade, he urged the agitating Madhesi parties to withdraw protests at the border points and seek the solution through talks.
When the parties withdraw the protests, India can send supplies, double the size of demands of Nepali market, to ease the situation here, he assured.
