Nepal telecom to distribute 50% cash dividend

Kathmandu January 6- Nepal Telecom has proposed to distribute 50% cash dividend to its shareholders. The proposed cash dividend is endorsed by BOD while it needs to be approved from forthcoming AGM before it could be distributed among its shareholders.
NT had earned net profit of Rs. 13 billion 872.7 million in the last FY from which it is distributing nearly 7 billion as a dividend. Among the proposed dividend, Rs. 91.49% i.e. Rs. 6 billion 860 million will transfer to government account and only 4.44% i.e. 333 million will be distributed among the general public. Similarly, 4.04% i.e. Rs. 300 million will be distributed to employees of NT and 0.03% i.e. Rs. 2.2 million will be transfer to citizen investment fund.
NT has the highest paid up capital among the listed companies in NEPSE with Rs. 15 billion paid up capital. It is also the highest earning and highest tax Payer Company of Nepal.
NT has distributed 46% cash dividend in last FY 2071/72 and 47% cash dividend in the FY 2070/71.
