Smugglers and protesters clash at Birgunj-Raxaul border point

Birgunj January 6- A group alleged Indian smugglers on Wednesday clashed with protesters of the United Democratic Madhesi Front at the Nepal-India border point between Birgunj and Raxaul.
According SP Raj Babu Shrestha of Parsa District Police Office, a group of around 200 persons from Raxaul tried to supply various goods across the border and the protesting UDMF cadres tried to block them.
The group hurled four petrol bombs from the Indian side on the protesters on the Nepali side , due to which four protesters were injured.
Meanwhile, after a team from the Indian Customs Office came for intervention, the smugglers withdrew from the borderline after one and half hours. Source: THT
