CIAA caught transport director with bribe at Baneshwor

Kathmandu January 1- The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority caught Nabin Kumar Pokharel, director at the Department of Transport Management while taking bribe from service seekers on Thursday.
A team deployed from the anti-graft body arrested director Nabin Kumar Pokharel from the department at Baneshwor with the bribe money.
According to CIAA, Nepalgunj customs office had asked a bicycle trader to produce the recommendation letter from the department to import 36 electric scooters from Avon Company.
When bicycle traders approached Baneshwor-based office, Pokharel had reportedly demanded Rs5,000 in bribe for each of the 36 scooters to get the recommendations.
Based on information provided by the service seekers, the CIAA-deployed officials had napped Pokharel.“The CIAA team arrested him while taking Rs180,000 from the service seekers,” CIAA spokesman Krishna Hari Puskar stated. Source: TKP
