Teenage protester killed in Rautahat clash
Rautahat December 20– An 18-year-old protester succumbed to bullet injuries he sustained in a clash with police, in Gaur, the Rautahat district headquarters, on Sunday.
He has been identified was Shekh Tabrejj, a 10th grader at the local Juddha Higher Secondary School.
The youth had received a bullet while burning a copy of the Constitution Amendment Bill tabled at the Parliament, near the District Police Office today.
A permanent resident of Tejapakad VDC-1 of the district, he breathed his last at the District Hospital while preparations were underway to airlift him to Birgunj or Kathmandu for further treatment.
Witnesses said some police personnel had kicked him with boots even after he sustained the bullet injuries.
The district headquarters had remained tense since this morning as cadres of the United Democratic Madhesi Front staged protests in front of the DPO. Source: THT
