Joint Secretary and Chief of Thankot depot arrested

Kathmandu December 14- Police arrested Rabin Sharma, chief of Thankot depot of the Nepal Oil Corporation, on charge of misappropriation on Sunday.
Senior Superintendent of Police Sarbendra Khanal, Chief of MPCD, said Sharma was arrested for interrogation based on the statements of those who were earlier arrested for tampering with fuel meters. According to SSP Khanal, the statements given by the arrested persons made police to investigate into Sharma’s involvement in irregularities.
On November 24, the MPCD had raided 19 fuel stations in the Valley and found 13 petrol pumps cheating customers by tampering with meters.
Meanwhile, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Environment, Ram Adhar Shah, former chief Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology, was arrested on Sunday from Gaushala for his involvement in the same case. SSP Khanal said Shah was arrested for interrogation.
