Precious metals lose shine

Kathmandu December 13- Prices of both gold and silver declined by Rs 700 and Rs 10 pertola, respectively, from December 6 to 11.

The market opened on Sunday with gold price fixed at Rs 49,100 pertola. The price of yellow metal slipped by marginal Rs 100 atola to be traded at Rs 49,000 on Monday. Bullion price again tumbled by Rs 400 pertola on Tuesday and was fixed at Rs 48,600 atola.

Price of gold, however, edged up by Rs 200 on Wednesday to be traded at Rs 48,800 atola and remained unchanged on Thursday. Its price again dropped by Rs 400 pertola on Friday to settle the week’s trading at Rs 48,400 atola.

Likewise, silver slumped by Rs 10 pertola in the six trading days. The market opened on Sunday with silver price fixed at Rs 685 pertola, and remained same on Monday. Its price fell by Rs 10 on Tuesday to be fixed at Rs 675 pertola and remained unchanged till Friday. Source: THT
